FROM A BRAND
Well, well, well. Hello and welcome back! I know I haven't posted in a couple of weeks and I'm sure you now understand why!
I hope everything is working smoothly but please bare with me as it’s taken me a while to get everything sorted, or at least as much as possible sorted I suppose.
You’re probably wondering ‘why the move?’ and ‘why squarespace?’ Well, i’ll delve into it a little more shortly but I just want to say thank you. Thank you to each and every one of you who come to my space online, read my posts, comment on them, follow me on instagram etc etc. It genuinely means a lot that you like my online space and I really hope that will continue. Without any of you, I wouldn’t be here so I really can’t say thank you enough! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
So, ‘why the move?’
A while back, I started to notice changes in blogger that I really didn’t like. I won’t list them all but, as an example, I’ll use the image tool. I started to notice that when uploading through blogger, my image quality was majorly compromised and colours/contrast were very different to what I’d edited them to be. Over a period of time i came to overcome it, by uploading to external sites like flickr or tinypic and then importing via code but it’s a much longer process than the above. For a blog that is so heavily focussed on imagery, it’s something I really didn’t like.
Something else I found frustrating was the lack of creativity I felt that i could add within a post. There was no overlaying text on an image (unless I did this on photoshop) and it’s just made me feel a bit restricted in terms of my creative flair - especially when my full time job is fashion design… I want to be able to play around a lot more with the layout of my posts, whilst experimenting with imagery and text together rather than as two desperate entities. (I’m hoping I’m making some sense here!)
Queue the move to Squarespace.
I started playing around with it absolutely months ago but always kind of gave up after what felt like hours of playing around with layout, fonts etc. But, there was something different about this time - it made me feel really refreshed and ready for a new chapter of The Style Archive.
It’s taken me a long time to actually take the leap and a lot of work in my spare time that you probably won’t notice but, there will still be plenty more hurdles to overcome. I’m almost certain that there will be issues and niggling little errors on this site but, please do let me know if you come across something!
I’m really excited for a new chapter, as I said, so I’m hoping as my little space online grows, you’ll grow with me. Let’s embark on this adventure together. And thank you over and over again for your continued support, it means more than you will ever know!
Thank you, thank you, thank you,
